Pelindo Launches Marina Tourism Center at Bali Maritime Tourism Hub

State-owned PT Pelindo has announced plans to build a marina tourism center at the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH) , situated in Benoa Port, Bali. This project supports Indonesia's ambition to strengthen its role in the global maritime industry. Pelindo’s President Director, Arif Suhartono, explained that the marina aligns with Indonesia’s maritime vision. He noted that it would offer a blend of comfort, premium services, and world-class infrastructure, adhering to international standards. The marina will include 180 docks, capable of accommodating over 50 super yachts, each up to 90 meters long. The facility will cater to both private and shared yacht charters, offering varied options for maritime travelers. AirAsia Debuts Direct Flights from Kuala Lumpur to Labuan Bajo

AirAsia has officially launched direct flights between Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) and Komodo International Airport (LBJ) in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia. This new service makes AirAsia the first international airline to fly directly to the island, renowned for being the home of the rare Komodo dragons.

The first flight touched down in Labuan Bajo on September 3, 2024, starting a regular thrice-weekly service.


This new route provides more than 4,000 seats weekly. It is expected to support tourism growth and stimulate the local economies of both Indonesia and Malaysia.


According to AirAsia, the new route will likely draw more visitors and create a positive impact on local communities. With the Fly-Thru service, travelers from Asia and Australia can now reach Komodo National Park and Flores island with just one stop in Kuala Lumpur.


Dato’ Captain Fareh Mazputra, Managing Director of AirAsia Malaysia, spoke about the significance of Indonesia as a major market. He also expressed plans to collaborate further with AirAsia Indonesia to enhance tourism and trade between the two countries.


Mazputra highlighted that AirAsia's 28 direct routes between Malaysia and Indonesia have already transported over 7 million passengers, boosting regional tourism and the economy. The airline is looking into expanding direct connections between the two nations.
